Jerry Northcutt has been shepherding here at MVBC for almost a decade. He and his wife Tammy love the community here on the hill and have intertwined their lives with the people here both in and out of church life. They not only pray for us all, but they also put love into action whenever possible. Both Tammy and Jerry are active in community events. They lead an exercise class together and are involved in the Farmers Market. Before moving here, Jerry attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and pastored a church in northern New York state. Jerry is a jeweler and he and Tammy used to own a jewelry store. Jerry still creates beautiful jewelry in his spare time.

When meeting Rod you instantly have a friend. His heart for God’s people is lived out day to day, in his life, and is fully ingrained in his character and service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Rod uses his gifts and skills to support the Pastor, it’s members, visitors, and the community at large. His wife Kathy is also a wonderful friend to all and pours herself into loving through service. Both Kathy and Rod are deeply involved with the church and the community. Rod is a graduate of both the U.S. Army Academy of Health Science and the Creighton University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program and is retired from the U.S. Army.

On Sunday’s Ron leads us in making “a Joyful noise unto the Lord” (Psalm 100:1) and we are blessed by his piano and organ accompaniment. Ron also leads the Morning Adult bible study at 10:00am Sunday’s which provides wonderful lessons and fellowship. Ron’s wife Joni is the sanctuary decorator. She also volunteers for most of the mission outreach events that MVBC hosts. At home they are busy cutting wood for the winter season, taking care of 11 chickens, and plowing snow in the winter. Ron and Joni have also enjoyed traveling to Italy, France, Mexico, Costa Rica, and 3 weeks in Israel back in 2018. Both Ron and Joni are working for Jesus at church and in their daily lives.
Aleta Smith, Treasurer

As Treasurer, Aleta keeps the church accounting organized and accurate. She also leads Women’s Bible Study and is blessed to spend time with the ladies studying God’s Word and “growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…” 2 Peter 3:18 NASB. Aleta and her husband, Elliott, enjoy living in the Pierce/Weippe Community and sharing life with their church family! Both come from technical backgrounds and are involved in increasing the church’s outreach through technology. Elliott is developing a website for the church while Aleta maintains the Facebook page. In her free time Aleta is a mystery writer! Her ‘who done it” writing is a relaxing escape for her and a creative outlet.

Lee is an incredible asset to us, bringing his extensive experience to enrich our little church. After retiring from the US Air Force, he attended the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has pastored churches in Texas and Arizona. Retiring again he moved here to be close to family and met his wife Ruthann while attending church here at MVBC. Proving you can’t keep a good man down, Lee continues to serve as Representative to the Whispering Pines Southern Baptist Association, on the Benevolence Committee and filling in as pastor. His free time is spent gardening with Ruthann an artist who donates much of her profits to various charitable causes.
